    Chest Problem

I have been making great gains all over lately but am having a major problem with my chest. I know that on most people, their dominant side will always have a tab bit large muscle size. However, my left chest muscle has become very noticeably smaller than the right. It can even be visially seen through a shirt. On chest workout days, the right pec with get hard and pumped, but the left feels as if I just woke up in the morning.

Why this happening and what can I do to get evened out?

I switch it up every week...

    Example of one:
Start with pec dec to help warm up. 3 working sets
    Flat bench
    Decline smith machine
    Incline dumbell
    Incline dumbell fly

    Example 2:
    Incline bench
    Incline dumbbell fly
    Flat bench dumbell
    Decline bench
    Pec dec

All are for 3 sets, 12-10-8 reps. I'm always switching up every workout. I can feel how the left side is much weaker than the right, especially when using dumbbells and I'm always trying to focus on keeping my lifts even on each rep.

lol bro people do have lives and can't monitor this forum 24/7 to answer ur questions, but i don't have a definate answer, my only suggestions to a problem like this would be to incorporate more DB presses so each side works independately but you already seem to be doing that, so i'd say just give it time and keep doing what your doing.

I had the same problem, I would do heavy dumbells and struggle with my right side but force it out thinking to even it out. When I'd be done my left always had a better pump and work out. After getting nowhere I dropped the wait a bit and really focused on the chest and the squeez and progressed as my weak side progressed and now they are near even.

Thats just what worked for me. Good luck!

As much as i know it's a no no, I may try using mis-matched dumbells til the left side catches up to the right. Use a lighter weight on the left, etc. I'll try to avoid doing it for to long so as not to throw the entire body off.

And motoxer, I realize the threads aren't monitored 24/7...just trying to keep it bumped so it doesn't get lost in all the others. Nothing wrong with that.

Thanx for the help guys and any more suggestions are more than welcome!

possible try doing a pre exuasting set like a machine fly to warm the muscle up i think that you are getting into your sets making other muscles do the work why you have a half chest pump. you right peck is overcompensating for you little left one, really focus on flexing both pecs on every set.

That's kinda what I have been doing by hitting the pec dec first before hitting heavy weights. Although I'll give what you said a shot and try to pre-exhaust using lighter weight on the machine.

i wouldn't use different sized DB bro, just make sure your form is perfect and it will come in time.

Your left is your weak side and so your using a lighter weight???? That is only going to make your strong side get that more further ahead.

Drop to a weight that is hard for your weak side but light enough that you have perfect form. Then concentrate on the chest and squeezing the muscle. Don't worry about your stong side not getting a good enough work out, your goal is to have the weak side catch up to the strong side, no?

Try dropping the barbell workouts for a while.

Sorry, that was a typo. I meant drop the weight on the right side/stronger side...
