Do you use gloves when weight training?
Gloves or no gloves when pumping iron?
-

I do, it helps me bench more and keep my wrist straight.
-
07-07-2006, 06:25 PM #3
I heard it compromises the strength of your wrists and therefore should not be used..

Only on back day
I cant use gloves when I dead lift but for everything else on back day I use them

Yeah I'll use them. I'll take them off for deadlifts...so you know the reason isnt to keep my hands pretty. Its just been a habit. I tried awhile ago without them and it feels too weird...been used to it too long

Never use them. The main reason- look around at the gym and see who is wearing them. Haha, I don't want no part of that! The guys wearing the gloves are also the guys that are wearing the string tanks and matching pants with the "just got out of the shower" hair-do (lol) and wear a weight belt during the entire workout. LOL, these guys crack me up. If they focused on lifting as much as how they look they would at least be somewhat.

The ONLY time I wear anything is for deadlifts, and I just use the Versa Grips, LOVE EM !! Everything else is pure grip strength!

-

I wear them to prevent callusisesessssess. But on back day I use straps....so all the cleans and shrugs are the only lifts that tear up my hands so hellmask sad , hellmask dont like rock hard hands cuz ladys dont like the feel and the only thing I do like are freaks and peaks cuz the stars are inline the bump and grind the big booty daddy is back inline.

...another baby here then..LOL...where I lift is neither heated nor air-conditioned, so gloves really help out with sweaty hands or cold bars...

gloves dick up my grip .. chalk > all
-
07-08-2006, 06:59 PM #28
Yep..I use all the chalk too. Like I said..not to prevent callouses..mine are horrible. More of a habit since i started off with them. When I do bench or incline without them my wrists bend weird and its almost like I dont know how to lift w/o them
-

my grip is messed up if i wear gloves. but if i was used to them or hand longer hands i would use them.
