What do the pros do that works so well

Sup guys, Iam always hearing 2 days on 1 off, working each muscle group once a week. Or doing a full body routiene 3 days a week. Now its pretty obvious the pros take AAS but do they do these routienes? If not what do they do? Sorry if im the ****ing idiot to ask this question a million times, im just a little lost in the whole what workout "way" works best. Thanks guys.

Typically we have know that muscles take about 5-10 days before completely healed. Ive now seen some more research which shows it can take longer than we expected, maybe up to 14 days on those days when its your first time going in a while and your extremely sore. If your not taking any steroids, opting for once a week work out is probably your best bet. You need lots and lots of healing time, beginnners over look this more than everything else. And to my knowledge even while on roids they do nothing for the recovery time of the building muscle and the time that should be taken between two workouts.

so even if your on cycle you should train each muscle group every week? I don't believe the pros do it this way. If you want to be pro you gotta train like it, thats exactly what im trying to do.

they don't workout as long as you would think! I've met ex-pros and amateurs about to get their pro cards who lift for as little as 45min/day and do each bodypart once per week. I think going ALL-OUT once a week per bodypart is much better than half-assing it twice a week, or wasting a workout by doing chest while your still sore and thus not lifting as much or potentially burning your muscle

There is no huge difference in how the pros train and how everyone else trains. The difference between them and everyone else is that they have been training for MANY years and have been extremely dedicated. If you look at the routines of many pros, you will notice that although they may differ greatly from pro to pro, they still allow themselves enough recovery time.

Lee Priest, for example, says that he has been weight training for every single day of his adult life except for a handfull of days (funerals etc). He Doesnt overtrain because he may just work small muscle groups some days. Other pros workout only 4-5 days of the week.

The main thing to developing a good routine is listening to your body. Its easy.

Heres my routine if it helps any

Monday - Chest + biceps (light triceps, shoulders stimulation comes with this)
    Tuesday-legs (medium back stimulation)
    Wed-rest
Thurs - shoulders, triceps (light chest stimulation)
friday - back, traps (medium bicep stimulation)
    sat+sun - rest

This is what works for ME.

Thanks for the input guys, I really appriciate it. Does the fact that many pros use AAS differ their workout style? I plan to do my first cycle soon, and im just gathering the best info for training that i can to make the AAS more effective. Currently im doing full body mon/wed/fri untill i start the AAS. Once i start im going to go to a every muscle group a week, how does that sound.

Thanks again guys for the advice.

Lets not forget the pros especially the ones in the Olympia contests have genes that only a handful of people have(my theroy at leat) but the do have much better genes than most which is why some guys can train twice a wekk and some not.

if it was merely down to training that made the pros look like that, then we would all just copy their routines and look amazing. the key here is genetics. not many people, no matter how much AAS, HGH, slin, igf-1 etc is taken, will ever look like a pro bodybuilder. then, ontop of that, there is diet, which is what takes years to master, and ofcourse, drug protocols that put the icing on the cake. find what works best for yourself, and again, this will take some years of serious training

well, according to Flex Wheeler he is a true ectomorph (like me) and it was very difficult to gain muscle for him. He just had to work EXTRA hard and eat very well... and take extra AAS which is why he had TWO kidney transplants.

Pro's have/had resources that many dont. ie: time, money, and as much as I'd hate to admit it, pharmeceuticals. But genetics are 90% of it all. I'm willing to bet that most pro bodybuilders nowadays are spending more than your average persons annual salary just on drugs and food alone.

o shit I'm young and I easily spend $10,000 a year on food alone so I can't imagine what they spend, however I did hear somewhere that Cutler spends $50,000/year on food - probably because he loves sushi

Alot of it depends on how often they eat out too. And dont let them fool you, in the off season some pros eat out 4 or 5 times a day!! I have a freind who spends $700/wk on food easy, but he eats out almost every meal, and he's loaded with cash so he doesnt care

I think its genetics more then anything! Give me all the years/food/gear/dedication that Ronnie did and I0d still be half his size...

Well how do each one of us know if we only have mediocre genetics? What if we all have a lot better genetics than we give our selfs credit for. The pros had to start somewhere, they didn't start out big. Im just trying to get a grasp on the best training and gear to do.

I think good genetics means you are muscular without working out and by working out you become freakishly huge, add proper nutrition, GH, and AAS to that and you get Ronnie Coleman.

I grew up with kids that we super-muscular who NEVER lifted weights, did pushups, or anything. Imagine if they worked out! I'm naturally EXTREMELY skinny, so to be where I'm at now it took LOTS of hard work, LOTS of money on food, and a couple cycles. I have terrible genetics for bodybuilding, however I have a good frame and bone structure which allows for growth.
