    New Chest Exercise

I've been incorporating some new chest exercises in my workout routine lately and this one has been treating me the very best. I don't know what you would call it, but it feels as if you're doing a chest press and a dumbell fly at the same time. It really taxes the inside middle of the chest since you're having to focus on keeping the dumbells inline together. One thing that I have found is that it's fairly demanding on the tricep muscles, so I would incorporate this movement into your chest exercise at the very end of your workout. Especially if you follow up your chest day with dips and/or isolated triceps exercises.

    Grace and peace,

Hey - I saw your thread about symmetry (or lack thereof). Try doing dumbell presses while isolating each individual arm. For example, position yourself as if you were going to do standard dumbell presses. Rather than lowering both arms, keep your right arm up (I said up, not locked!) while only lowering your left arm and press it. Then switch by keeping the left arm up and pressing your right arm. Since you have a size/strength issue on one side of your body, use more weight on your weak side. Let me know if you need an illustration of this.

You still doing this exercise? So you are basically doing a press with the dumbells together and the elbows out to the sides?
