I was reading through this article to get a refresher on the Romanian Deadlift and Stiff-Legged Deadlift variations. I came across this statement and thought it would be an interesting topic for discussion. The first response will be, "Where are the studies? Prove it!" That is true but I think it might be a good topic of discussion because people always say here that all you need for trunk is deadlifts and squats (not all but the majority say this).

"According to sprint coach, Charlie Francis, an overemphasis on exercises such as good mornings or deadlifts can result in weakness of the quadratus lumborum muscle which is considered by some to be the most important stabilizer of the spine! This will lead to an unbalanced core. If this is indeed true, then a variety of side bridges, bends, and flexions should cure the problem."
