Cardio help
I know there are no shortcuts but i need some help. Is it necessary to run on the treadmill to loose BF. Some guys say a brisk walk will do the trick.I know diet is key. Some tips from you guys will help.
Thanks BLast edited by Bruce000; 10-17-2006 at 08:27 AM.

you can lose fat doing anything as long as it get your heart rate up to a reasonable level. Work out what you need your HR to be to get optimal fat burning. the equation is 220-age*0.7. Im 30 and based on that equation my HR needs to be about 133 approx. Buy a cheap HR watch and see if a brisk walk is enough to get HR up high enough for you. Try and do cardio for at least 30 mins as many say fat burning doesn't start until 20mins in to it. Do your cardio on an emprty stomach. Do not eat anything for 30 mins after cardio as you will continue to burn fat during this time.

I do cardio every day. when bulking 30 mins in the AM on empty stomach. When cutting 45-60 mins AM and maybe again PM.
I can't answer why the guys in the gym are still shredded without cardio. Maybe there on clen /t3/ECA,gh,igf the list is endless. Maybe they just have real fast metabolism. One thing is for sure though. Without cardio they do not have a healthy heart.

The heart foundation dont know jack about excercise so I would take there reccomendations with a pinch of salt. I'll carry on doing cardio and maintaining heart health. I'm pretty positive that doing cardio is healthier than not doing it. It's kind of common sense.
Helium - I do X trainer or ride my bike if weather is good.

Sure it's debateable that doing cardio is 'healthier' than not doing cardio... Still that does not make not doing cardio 'unhealthy'.
That's the debate.
Show me a cardiovascularly unfit circuit trainer and i'll sell you a 6 legged mouse-pig.
