    question about umbilical hernia

I went to the doctor and found out a have a umbilical hernia it is very small. the doctor said surgery is not required yet. He said it could be 6 months or maybe a year or longer, because he said they are not as serious as the inguinal hernia which I had surgery for last year. I asked him if weight lifting would bother it, he said no. My question is should I continue my same work out routine adjust it? I probably will get it fixed when it gets larger or really bothers me. The only reason i noticed it was when I was taking a shower. any suggestions?

It sounds as if your doctor gave you the "go ahead." How old are you? unmbilical hernia's are QUITE rare for anyone past puberty..
