    weight belt?

When should you wear a belt? Should it be only on heavy lifts? What are the pro's and con's with wearing a belt?

    Thanks

This is another one based on opinion preference

I myself, am a competitive powerlifter. Therefore my belt is one of my tools of the trade. I don't, however, parade around the gym with it on from the time I walk out of the locker-room 'til the time I leave. I use it on my heavy work, i.e. triples, double and singles. Sometimes I do tend to use it one fives. I use it mainly on most squat, deadlifts, and bench work and there related. Use it for heavy d.bell work also. Somtimes some pulling when I go heavy. Then take it of once I start into my accs. work. Like I said earlier, it's all up to the person, but, I don't see the need in it for anything other than the heavy work because you want to strengthen the low-back/ab muscles not compramize their integrity.

    Hope this helps,
    Widow

well you should wear it only on the heavy lifts that put alot of stress on your back. You dont want to wear it the whole workout because you want to strenghthen the back and the stabalizing muscles. If you were the belt always the belt will be supporting most of the stress and the muscles around your back will not develop enough strength
