Sometimes I only sleep for 2 - 3 hours and can´t fall asleep when I wake up.
I usually sleep 7 - 9 hours. So when you guys sleep for just a few hours do you skip working out or do you just drink more coffee/energydrinks?

if coffee doesn't bring me up after poor sleep, i sometimes will take that day off...luckily it's not too often...i get 3-4 good days of lifting EW, but coffee and lots of it is definately my drug of choice

Sorry for bumping my old thread.
Is it bad to workout/lift weights when I haven´t slept anything at all?
Could I just eat moderate to high carb and drink coffee?
Hm I think yes and no. It really cant be good for your CNS. I deadlifted the other day on no sleep and the difference was HUGE. Over 100lbs
I still try to get my lift in..but it depends. If I am not busy the next day..I will push it back one day and get plenty of sleep that night. In this instance..I had tests the next day as well, so I just got it in anyway.
Basically, if you can help it..just get sleep and push back your lift one day.
I maybe do a short workout because I often get more energy/get less tired after a workout. I also have a physical, boring shitjob that I have to go to in the evening.
I want to call and say that I am sick like having a cold or something but I am such a wussy that I can´t do it. I would feel bad if I lied.
I've suffered from insomnia for the last 5 years.
4 hours is a 'long night' for me.
Do i skip workouts?
No.
Has it negatively affected me?
You tell me![]()
Honestly i can't say what i believe with regard to this statement.Originally Posted by chest6

I think we discount the body's adapative capacity: the true extent of which is unknown.
