    "Laws" of bodybuilding?

In my time of participating in bodybuilding...I have come to realize and recognize there are two types of people in this sport: Those that believe in the supposed "laws" of bodybuilding and those that believe in following the path of pure individual creativism. Allow me to explain the "laws" of bodybuilding first. The laws are the "questionably" preset truths of bodybuilding founded by the early pioneers of the sport from late 50's to the early 80's that are seemingly overlooked and tossed aside by many contemporary bodybuilders. These laws include such "facts" and "principles" as high set training, free weights instead of machines, training each bodypart at LEAST twice a week, using power lifting moves, and training both a**ominals and calves every single day. hese laws also are responsible for such facts as "Barbell with build more size and stregnth b/c w/ barbell's you can use more weight which demonstrates another "law": more weight=more size. These laws have subnotes that describe instances in which these guidlines may be and should be altered due to the individuality of each person subject to them. The laws take into account the differences in anatomy, genetics, health, strengths, and weaknesses of people and have applications that can be used to correct and/or work with them. For example: Though the "laws" state barbells typically build more mass and strength..they reccomend dumbell presses and even different angles and grips for those people whose stature interferes with the typical application of the law. ie( people w/ short arms should do dumbell presses more often & those w/ dominant front delts should do decline presses more often.) And on the other side of the spectrum there are those who never pay attention to the lwas and simply develope thier own individual training guidlines absed on their personal preference and/or needs. Some of these people will use low set training usuing machines just as much as if not more than free weights. They will use only dumbells for pressing movements, they will perform randomn and often silly exercises they learned from watching someone else in the gym, and they are scared of training for more than 30 minutes fro fear of overtraining. (That is just an example. Another example of such a person could be exactly the opposite...train to long...only uses barbell..etc.) Now do not get me wrong...I am not partial to either side. If one is characterized in a more a negative manner it is by shear coincidence. I have seen people who follow both paths and are EXTREMELY succesful. My question is simply this...which type of person...are you?
