486 then I gave up counting.
32 is the most i ever did...
one of ur issues with this question is not many people ever really try to max their reps
the only reason i ever tried is i work at a prison and a few inmates did it so i wondered what i could do.. other than that i would have never gone over my normal warm up set

I've never tried to see how many times I can do 225
50 reps was my best, I could have done 55+ if I kept at it for a few more weeks.
Well I did 45 at the combine....... annd then i woke up..

Hmmm, it's not something I have done before and I wouldn't make a habit of it as I rarely go much over the 15 rep mark, but what-the-hey, it's good to surprise your muscles every now and then. I'll try it next time I do chest as a 1 off, out of interest and (more importantly) cos I think it will shock my muscles.

i usually do 225 8 times, but i max out with 1 rep at like 260 which isnt far from 225 lol, i gotta get my max up.
i do it anywhere between 8-12. My favorite weight to use is 225. I feel like im in total control with it. get the best pump and everything. I max at 315 but usually dont even go up that high that often

Did it as part of my chest routine yesterday, started and went straight to BB bench and as follows:
Warm up
1plate aside (132lb? Sorry not good at conversion from kg to lbs) x 15
1.5 plates aside (176lb?) x 12
225lb x 21
225 x 15
225 x 10
This was with 1min 30 rest in between.
This surprised me as I can only do 3 plates aside (308lb?) for 6/7 reps. Is this normal?
Sounds about right. You were pretty close on your weight translation too, but its 1plate (each side) 135, 2plates 225, 3plates 315, 4plates 405.

INcline bench 225 x 12 Work incline much more often

Fifty reps LOL. That is a ton. Is that you in your avy? It's hard to tell, it's kind of small, looks kind of like Swarzenegger. If it isn't, do you have any pics? I wanna see what a guy who can bench 225 50 times looks like. I know some world class power lifters, some, could probably do it easy, but how many of those do we have on this site? However, I DO know there are some animals in that powerlifting forum that are probably world class. I know I cannot come anywhere near that and I can bench 400 halfway through a strenuous flat bench routine, obviously putting my max above that. I think some of it has to do with how far apart you place your hands on the bar too. I used to bench wide, and could do 225 a lot, even though my max was way less than it is now. I narrowed it up a lot, to decrease pec and shoulder injuries on heavy lifts, am much much stronger, but may not be able to do 225 too many more times than I used to be able to. Anyways....with 225 for 50, your max has to be around 600. Gotta be in that neighborhood right? I assume you don't use a bench shirt either. Yeah, I squat 405 for 4 sets of 8 all the way down. First few sets are easy, on heavy days I can jump to 495 right after that first set and do it 4-8 times. My max has to be close to 550-585, and I don't even know if I could squat 225 for 50. I probably could, but I don't even know. Two twenty five for 50 on the bench is a lot period.Originally Posted by Jason865

I can press 225lbs only one time now. I'm just not very strong. But I do like the way my clothes fit.
