    Momentum

Is there any use in momentum for bodybuilding? I have been using momentum in a number of different exercises. Should I lighten it up and do more slow and contractive reps or continue doing fast explosive reps?

using momentum means your not doing the exercise properly and your not using the muscle your trying to work. (95% of situations)

drop weight and do the reps right!

There is a time and a place for everything. Most of the time you shouldnt use any momentum to complete the rep. However using a bit of momentum on the last set to get a extra rep or two is ok from time to time.

You probably wont use momentum on things which joints or tendons are comprimised. ie squat, bench, etc.

I would use it very sparingly. Bicep curls are the only exercise I might use a bit of momentum
