    How many reps is enough?

I am currently doing the heaviest weight i can lift six reps. Is this enough reps or should i be doing 8 reps. I see everybody talking about 8-10 reps, how come not 6?

I would think 6 is fine as long as your going heavy and until failer (sp). Everyones body is different, so if it works for you stick with it.

4 to 6 reps is the way to go to build mass and strength. So, you are on the right track.

I say 5 to 7 reps....Six reps is fine. I do Six or seven four sets. They say if you want size high intense trainning with low reps.

Very true, it all depends on the person. I've gained way better with 8-10 reps, while most people will tell you that 4-6 reps allow you to gain the most.

For me it depends on the body part.. like legs I gotta hit em with 10-12 reps to get growth... But chest I go 5-6 per set...

Thats just me and like the others have said it varies from person to person..

(and I'm a fat newbie what would I know )

i agree with pheedno i personally never count reps i just got till i cant no more but i think its important that you use weigts that you can handle and always use proper form leave your ego at the door you dont want to use so much that you hurt yuorself then you wont be able to train at all
