My job offers a free membership to a gym. Basically all they have are machines. Very few free weights. Everything I've heard is that you can't really get big off machines. They are just for toning. Is this true?

well the thing about machines is that they are very rigid so they do not let you muscles use there "stabilizers". Stabilizers are mostly used with free weight becuase you need to have good form and streght to keep the weight stable. When you work these muscles it makes you much bigger and stronger then if you would have used the machines. Machines are good but i only use them for certain exercises that I cant really do very well with free weights. Anyways what are you stats and what are your goals that will help me decide what I feel is best for you better![]()

sorry that last part didnt make sense. All i ment was that it would be easier for me to give you some more insight if I knew what your goals were ex. Bulking, cutting. It's been a long day ok hahaha![]()
