Anyone USED to have lagging arms?
Every time I bulk and focus on gaining size/strength....all of my body parts grow...obviously. However...some areas (arms) seem to respond slower than others.
Did anyone USED to have lagging arms...and figure out a way to bring them up? Any tips?

i have the same problem. that being said, my arms have grown rather well for my standards over the last 6 months. still lagging, but better than they were.
i have come to the conclusion that aslong as you make sure you fully tax your arms every workout, do not overtrain and eat accordingly, after a number of years they will be good sized arms in the eyes of the general public. i get comments on my arms when out in clubs, or at the gym ("wow how do i get arms like yours") when my arms are nothing special, especially compared to my delts and back, and chest to a certain extent.
in short, keep plugging away at 100% effort, try new things, dont give up hope, eat plenty, and one day, you will have big arms.
saying that, if there are more sure-fire, short-term methods, lets hear them

I think alot of people that want big arms do alot of isolated workouts(particulary bicep)I noticed a major increase in my arms when i start doing compound exercises. This and when i started really focusing on triceps is when I saw my biggest arm size improvements.

genetics is a bad thing sometimes.. my suggestion, stop working your arms... focus on your back, then add your arms into it after 2 months of not working them directly..

I have made some improvements
my arms have been lagging as well, but I have added some size as of late while losing fat, so I think it works for me:
1. I don't generally believe in over training, but when I reduced the work volume on my arms due to adding cardio they have responded well. I went from about 15 sets to 10-12.
2. The best bi workout for me is when I do lots of pullups on back day. that makes my bis more sore than 15 sets of curls.
FWIW,
jps

Do not over train!
You may super-set every other week (cable row - preacher curls) with NO rest in between.
You can rest between sets though, about 40 sec.
1 set w/12 reps, 2nd 10, 3rd 10-8(to failure)
Use 80% max on 1st and 2nd set.
That same day finish your workout w/pull-ups to failure.
Prepare to be sore!Last edited by X-Damien; 02-14-2007 at 09:31 AM.

when i find that my arms are slacking or lagging behind the rest. i start super setting them and it kinda lights the flame under em to get them going. i constantly just change what i do to them to keep them going. works for me but then again my arms tends to be easier to work with. my chest in the other hand is a complete diff. story

I'm also adding in basic heavy moments such as:
Standing straight bar curl
Close grip EZ curl bench press
These are 2 exercises I haven't really used before...but people keep saying they're amazing for arm size.

see sometimes i find myself the exact opposite of pushing more weight. like i said before i change it up constantly but also said my arms are an easy body part for me to see results. there are times i hit a road block in growth or strength and i lighten the weight and go back to more reps at let say 75% max. Add an extra set and then it kicks me back into some growth and strength. then after awhile i just reverse it back to heavy weight. i say like every 6-8 weeks i flip it. All depends on what I am feeling in my workouts or my workout partner telling me I am lagging

i do my arms once a week but i do other activities that workout my arms throughout the week so my arms usually stay cut up and then i just pound them in the gym to put some size on them.

6'5 and 19?...you must be very lean than...because I am 6 foot and my arms are between 16-17 and I think they look very skinny..lol..I would love them to be 18-19..but then again im only 6 foot..

my arms match my body. i dunno. i have been 20.5''. i just dont care to have my arms huge. they are big no worries there. just not like wow big. i try to maintain my athletic type body. Tall, lean but yet big but not huge. My frame is huge. Pretty much compare my body to a TE or DE in the NFL that isnt fat

if i could make anything bigger it would be my chest and shoulders. hardest thing for me being so tall. also my arms are ridiculously long
-

See I dont get that. I guess there is no correlation.
I have long arms with small arms and a big chest.
Nearly everyone else on this site that said they have long arms have big arms and a small chest

My arms are sticks compared to my body.
When I was 18yrs old, I had a 47 inch chest with 15 3/4 inch arms.:^/
What I find works best for me is HEAVY Barbell Curls, and weighted Dips.
Also , Doing triceps & biceps on the same day has given me better arm pumps along with some extra size.
Also Dumbell Concentration curls after hitting the Barbell curls has added extra peak.
Thats funny , chest and others have lagging arms but big traps. I have lagging arms but big traps, shoulders, and legs. Who gives a shit about arms, there just for show.
