    Question Benching

I think i'm quite strong compared to all my mates at benching! I'm 26 5ft 9 and weighs 85kg.

I'm currently benching Flat 3x8 140kg, is that normal or would you say above the usuall average?

As a rule of thumb, a bench press of one's full body weight ids respectable. However, some of the world powerlifting bench press records are on the order of three times the lifter's weight - about twice your lift. (Of course, their equipment, back arch, body proportions (short arms, disproportionately big pecs, etc.), arching back posture, most likely steroids , etc. have a lot to do with those records. I don't know if these factors play into your personal bests or not.)

My point is that you're really strong compared to most, but there are still people out there who could run rings around you. You just have to accept that like most everyone else. Now quit bragging. We all know that was your point in posting this.

I don't get it. If you weight 190, there's no way 135 pounds is challenging your muscles. I must be reading this wrong.
