I was doing a 5 day split but was told to do 4 days to allow my CNS to recover but when I did my leg and shoulder workout today by the time I got to my shoulers I felt drained and ended up doing less reps with the same weight. Should I go back to doing a 5 day split of 1 main muscle group per workout?

I find it difficult to do anything with legs on the same day, as legs takes a lot out of me. How about combining some else with chest or back instead...like the standard Chest/Tris day or Back/Bis day? That will allow you to maintain 4 day split.

If I did 10 sets for chest and back would 6 sets be ok for the triceps and biceps?

It is for me. For example, after an intense chest workout, my triceps are alreadt very fatigued. I generally finish them off with 3 sets of skull crushers and 3 or 4 sets cable pulldowns, with a last set dropping weight and burning out.
