    Back Day #1 ?

I always deadlift first on back day......except I am in the cage with the pins set around ankle level....easier on the back and can pull withot worrying......then I just slighty tough the rack and explode up....no bounching.

On Fridays, I've been doing 5x6 aux day...deads from the floor (last week I did 235x6x5) no wraps, then cleans, bench and squat.......should I move the pins for todays tio nee level and do rack deads?

thats just 4 sets including a warm....do dbell row and str8 bar row too......

Finaly ? _ If my goal for the day is say 295x4 as I've only gotten barely 3 the last 2 weeks.......I also do a 5x5, last week was 275x5 pre 295. My question is, I know I cant get the 295 for 4 because I am taxed from the previous set.....what if, or would you reccomend, warming up, then going right to 295x4 if i can, then back down to 280 x 5.......rather miss the 5x5 then heavy 4 from 295 no?

move the bar to the floor and do real deadlifts, deadlifting in the rack at the lowest setting isnt the same as a regular dead, not even close

Its fine to have an aux day and many top bb pros train with the big 3......thats where the true mass is....

I do deads from the floor on friday 5x5 style....

today, I go heavy a set of 4 reps a set of 2 reps and maybe a single off the lowest pin setting....it's actually very close to a full deadlift and I actually feel it more in my middle back than I do from the floor....maybe today I should do rack deads? Move the pins to shin level and go a little heavier to get used to hitting the heavy weight

    I've been training
    chest/calves
    back
    off
    delts
    aux day
    legs
    off

    good bb rotuine..........

maybe he was doing an offseason 3 by 3 routine but no way is that a good idea for bodybuilding, 3 times a wk all 3 core lifts??? even most powerlifters would say it was crazy.

question, why do you have an entire day dedicated to just delts? also, so you are deadlifting in the cage , and than another day off the floor, so you really are doing the deadlift twice a wk??am i understanding this right? if so , again you are over training that movement

I just dont get why you come on here, and dedicate a thread to "is an aux day a good idea?" and EVERYONE tells you no, yet you convince yourself its a great idea and do it anyway.

I do rack deads on tuesday with back......then I sometimes do 5x6 off the floor or stiff legg deads on friday.......I don't believe it's overtraining, but if you say so, I'll knock it off....bill starr's program I beleive is 5x5, squat, row dead 3x a week......max one day, then like 50% the next.........

Actually, what is a rack dead.....these pins are about 3 notches up which comes to my shin, or low shin......at 6'2, it really is almost a full deads.....and do you reset each time Doc? I see so many BANG it against the pins....I usually touch and go........

i reset the weight, i dont bang off he pins, i change the height to where my weakest point of the lift is. basicaly it breaks don like this, sometime i rack dead just below the knees sumo style or just above the knees conventional, this is what works for me,but remeber, i do regular deads before i do the rack deads. the bill star 5x5 and the german bloc 3x3 all have people deadlifting 3 times a wk. IMO these programs are old and alot of training advances have been made in the sport with alot of research, yes this works but it isnt necessarily the best way to train. i think that alot of people back in the day overtrained because they didnt know any better at that time, (including arnold) i also believe that alot of older workouts form the "golden years" are set up to overtrain the athelete

So shin level is actually half way between a rack dead and a full dead...I thought 280 for 5-6 would be cake but it was almost harder than full off the floor, not sure why.......maybe the reset......

Why is that? I thought it might be because I tend to drop it a little hard from the floor and when it's racked, I'm more more conscious to touch and go.......
