i dont see how it would work out that if you took two identical diets and performed cardio with one of them that the one without would lean you out any faster.
BUT..i took a week off from the gym last week [no weights/no cardio] and the weight was coming off faster than when i was training. [keep in mind i also was not consuming a PWO meal, so that COULD have been it]

the only way to know is to get your body fat tested before and after and see if it changed.....
by the way ofcourse you'll be leaner if you manipulate your diet but you'll be even much LEANER if you add cardio...
LOOKING LEANER is one thing but actually being leaner is another.....a lot of people mistake the puffyness for fat when its actually water.....I have been able to drops lbs of water just with sodium and water intake manipulation....but losing the water weight didn't make me leaner it just showed what I had underneath the water
its called optical illusion .....water weight makes you look fatter plain and simple

lack of water and and too much sodium intake will make you retain water.....
