I'm interested in trying to make a rugby team in the fall. My goal is to gain strength and increase my muscle mass..I've looked at a lot of programs and the 5x5 style program looks pretty interesting...However, I'm a little worried that I would be neglecting a lot of smaller muscle groups on a program like this...ie) calves, neck, forearms, hamstrings etc..Is there any 3day split program similar that might offer bodybuilding type exercises in addition to the major compound lifts, without overtraining?.
