    Is this overtraining?

I understand that your muscles need time to regrow and you should only hit them like once a week, which is what i normally do. My question is this though, I like to do push ups before bed to keep my chest stretched and loose. Would that be considered over training chest If I am training chest hard once a week and doing push ups at night?

it is pointless and hinders recovery. Don't do it.
There are two things you can do in the gym. 1. build muscle by taking the muscle to failure and then allowing to grow with rest. 2. burn fat by doing cardio. Press ups do neither of these and IMO have no place in an excercise routine apart from maybe a warmup for chest day.

I'm glad to see that in writing. I just did my last push-up today.

how many pushups are you doing? If you are going to failure then yea, dont. Just stretch them out good and often.
