    Love cardio!

Against convention, I do so much of it. Everyday I'll do 1.25 to 2 hours. I bring three shirts all of which get saturated with sweat. I do extremely low carb - the only carb source is a salad. Of course, with so much cardio, my MP3 player is a factor. I listen to Stevie Ray Vahn, Nirvanna, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains . I love to sweat and I love that cardio high! Baby!

I dont mind cardio, once I get going. After 3 minutes ort so Im in the zone, but dont perform that much, usually 20-30 minutes on the rower. Couldnt do it without my MP3 player though. One day I remember going the gym for cardio, realised Id left my MP3 at home, so I left, didnt even bother trying LOL.

mike are you being a smartass??

I really kinda like it, its easy, I dont listen to music though, used too.. now I read people and US weekly and check out whos hot on the celeb scene.

every once and a great while I get to strike up a convo w/ one of the VERY few hot chicks that go to my gym.

Ive been thinking about getting a zune so I can watch youtube clips while I do cardio.

Also against conventional wisdom, I do high intensity cardio. I've read that overall you burn more k-cals that way.

^^ well yeah, you would cause you have a higher output, ive also read it will keep your metabolizm elevated higher for longer than low intensity. so i agree.

and yeah I read your other post on leg recovery, sounds like you love to run, thats rare,

I used to run cross country so ive got respect for runners they are really dedicated, I remember this past winter it was freezing drizzle outside and no one went to the gym but on the way there I saw a guy geared up running down the street, gave me some extra motivation that day.

USUALLY, remember I said usually, those doing cardio longer than 45mins and not precontest most likely are intense enough.....there should be a love hate relationship.....wasn't meant to be "fun"........for me at least......it's the LAST thing I want to do...also keep in mind, it's 95% diet, take a look at the cardio bunnies, physiques rarely change.

I do my cardio for stamina, not fat loss. Its more fun as its challenging and easy to measure improvement. Still rather be doing something else

Yeah I do love to run. I used to be a runner in the nineties. Did it for the high. Affter a while, I'd get knee and ankle injuries which I read is common if you run for more than one hour every day. So now I play it safe with the cross trainer.

I find that cardio (plus dieting, supplements, resistance training) makes a big difference and this is supported in the literature.

First, burning those k-cals not only during excersice but after. I read your metabolism is hyped 25% for three hours after a bout of high intensity, 20 min. running. Compare that to DNP use which raised your metabolism 30% (granted, for a longer period of time and at greater risk). That bodes well for the bodybuilder trying to lose fat.

Second, the physiological adaptations to running means that you'll be burning more cals at rest in general. For example, an unconditioned runner at rest draws energy from 50% of his or her adipose tissue. A conditioned runner will use maybe 70% fat at rest. Over time, conditioning to running means that your body increasingly becomes a fat-burning machine. I couldn't imagine getting ripped up without cardio.

I cant imagine running....period. I bet 90% of bodybuilders do not run. Sure there are a few and if you like it, by all means do it....but it is most def. possible to become completely shredded without cardio and then when cardio does come into play, most choose the stairstepper, incline walk, bike, etc....much much easier on the joints and I know from years of running...once the damage to those joints has begun, it's a loooong battle...I.e. I'm still getting over the marathon training...I'm weak but getting stronger, HOWEVER, I may never be able to squat heavy again. In college 315 for 10 deepo reps was peanuts....now, sincerely, 155 is a struggle......

I AM IN NO WAY SLAMMING YOU.....running is EXCELLENT for fitness and the body...props! I just cant do it anymore and get a better cardio effect from an intense cardio walk then I ever did running...and spinning....shit, hardest cardio by far...IMHO!

I guess I have a slow metabolism because I know I couldn't do it without cardio. I'm fortunate to like it so much too but damn it's time-consuming.
