My trainer says if I do cardio more than 4x a week I wont lose any extra weight, is this true? Is there a reason for it if it is

No. How do you think ppl do contest prep? What your trainer might be saying is that you run the risk of becoming catabolic w/ additional or too much cardio. In otherwords, too much cardio can burn muscle instead of fat. Its a balance. Also, if you do too much cardio w/o a proper 6-8 meal a day diet your body can go into "starvation mode" and it will try to store all your incoming cals (turn into fat). Typically, the average person will only eat 3 times a day making matters worse.
Its important to keep your heartrate in the fat-burining zone and you can do this for 20-40 minutes a day up to 4-6 days in a row. Any longer in time or consecutive days may lead to a catabolic state.
jmo, of course.
^^ good point Jonn
The bottom line is that you've invested in a trainner, you must do what he says, not saying your going to go behind his back but there is a reason why he told you that
sometimes its just easier to tell a client, because i said so, than to go in great ***th to explain why.
so yeah, for the sake of what your trainner said you wont lose any more weight if you go more than 4 days
