    Calisthenics along with weights..

    Is performing calisthenics detrimental to your weightlifting program, or supplemental? I started morning cardio this week light jogging around a large track at a park. There are pullup and dip bars along the track and i would stop my jog and do a few solid sets on the bars. It honestly felt great, a nice change from the heavy lifting. Is it alright to do this daily every morning, along with my nightime weight training?

    If anything it will hurt more than help, but fck it if you wanna do it, do it.

    I don't see why it would hurt you...I could see it affecting your strength if you do alot of reps and try to work out later that same day, but I think it's good to do some bodyweight workouts every now and then. The only other way I think it could "hurt" you is if you worked out the same muscle groups the day before and your body is still recovering, but even then I don't know if that would hurt you.
