    Squat Alternitives

I am in Iraq and have no access to leg machines, I also have a cervical spin injury (C-2 to C-6) bulging, ruptured and some bone spurs, just some of the joys of jumping out of military aircraft with a parachute. I do squats now, but the bar is killing me, my arms go numb for days after. Any Ideas would be appreciated.

get more weight in those backpacks you guys tote around. Strap that on and do your squats

I started doing walking lunges. Love em. great pumps and seem to be easier on my kness and much easier on my back than squats (although I still do em). You don't need much weight. I start with 40 pound dumbbells and work my way up to 60's. When you step try and drop your rear knee as low to the ground as you can.
