90+ lbs lost in past 7 mos with strict diet, and working out with manageable weight for sets of 12-20 for entire 7 month period, save 2 weeks for bulking and about 5 weeks i have taken off....
my old workout routine*:
mon-flat, incline, decline bench, dumbell flys
tues-tricep pulldowns, hammer curls, overhead tricep extensions w/ez bar, preacher curls, 4 sets forearm curls
wed-seated military press, shoulder shrugs, upright rows, pullups
thurs-seated rows, wing pulldowns, bent rows, reverse flys
fri-leg curls, leg extensions, calf raises, squats
sat-1-2 hr bike ride
*during workout days sometime i would do intervals on my bike for 12-15 minutes, and a few staurdays i went for over 3-4 hrs
Goal: ultimately i want to be around 230 lbs but more solid than flab. i was thinking i should get down to around 200-215 before i really start worrying about bulking seriously.
i used to have 2 partners to work out with me but they have given up and i am stuck in a "maintain" zone just to keep with some sort of schedule. so my question is, should i go to the gym and hope to find a spotter and begin lifting for 6 weeks to bulk or should i remain on my home gym and continue with the higher reps and weight loss... also i am aware that my diet is a huge part of weight control and i have got it under control for weight loss and i have been readin plenty about muscle gaining and dieting so i know i will definately be increasing my intake during this 6 weeks.... thanks in advance for any help
NOTE: i know it doesnt mean much about my build, but i have a brother that is the same height as me and he has pretty close to the same shoulder size as well, and he went from 215 lbs to 190 lbs, so am i wrong in assuming that the neighborhood of 200-215 is attainable???
