its absolutely possible to do both simultaneiously
now, whether cardio should be high or low intensity, thats up to debate.....I typically go long duration med intensity
Now short answer, low-med int uses fat as energy, high intenstiy uses protein and glygogen for energy........But that doesnt necessarily mean you will lose more fat overall with the low int

i agree with iron... actually if you lift for longer than 30 minutes you will burn fat while building muscle. and you should go at an intensity that will allow you to reach at least 45 minutes in cardio to burn fat effectively.

burning fat while trying to gain muscle can be tricky. Because you need to be in a calorie surplus in order to build new muscle and in order for your body to burn fat as energy you have to be at a calorie deficit from your maintnance calories. with a rock star diet and a great lifting regimen you can burn some fat while building up some muscle but it will take a significantly longer period of time to get to your goal. ideally you would want to spend time bulking up and developing the muscle that you want with a massive "clean" calorie surplus, and then stick to a strict diet and workout plan with high amounts of protien in order to keep the muscle and lose the fat after. good luck bro.

I agree with Silver......Cardio is good in the morning but i would stay away from running as your Muscle and Liver Glycogen stores are low from the overnight fast.
There are many different things that have to happen in order to lose body fat and gain muscle at the same time..... Cardio, Lifting and Food are just pieces of the big puzzle bro. Effort is never frowned upon brother, give it a try!!!
