    conditioning

ok so i have a pretty good muscle base and now i want to begin training to give myself a good cardiovascular endurance. i plan on joining one of the military's special forces in the next two years after i get out of college and i want to be in the best overall shape possible. right now im 6'0 194 lbs and i estimate 10-12% bf. i need to get in better cardiovascular shape, however. i am fatt-ass slug but i know my running times and endurance now just wont cut it. do any of you have any suggestions to get my running/swimming endurance and speed up? thanks

The harest thing to do in my opinion is getting out there and going for a run. Im sure you have the displine to do so since you want to join the military. If you havnt already do research on cardio vs heart rate ect.... Heart rate is keep when training cardiovascular.

To increase cardiovascular endurance, increase the duration of your cardiovascular activities while maintaining intensity. Also, incorporate a variety of activities to keep your body guessing. For instance, run, cycle, swim, run stairs, train on the eliptical, etc. Interval training can also build cardiovascular endurance.

You may what to stay away from lifting. Look more towards, dips, pull-ups, push-ups, etc...
High reps. Large muscles is not need are not needed for training, if anything they will get in your way. If you make it through training then worry about lifting.
Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines?
