    Smile Back to doing Deadlifts

It's been years since I've done deadlifts in my back routine. I tried some today and after abut 3 sets my lower back was on fire. I couldn't go to heavy but damn they felt good!

    My back routine consist of:

Wide Grip pullups: 3x to failure

Bent barbell over rows: 3x 12,10,6

    Deadlifts: 3x 12,10,6

Should I lower the reps on my deads? I'm still getting my lower back use to it. I've been working on more core exercises and doing my lower back because i hurt it doing some lifting at work! Hopefully I can lift some real weight next time.

Hell yeah man. Deads and bent rows are always included on my end. If you haven't done deads in awhile, I'd say back off on the weight for a week or so, and make sure your form is in check. Your back will tell you to go heavier or not.
Horror stories and deads go hand in hand in every gym, so be safe so they aren't talking about you......

Nah I'm doing them on the ground. I did go heavier after the 2nd set but I felt my form was getting worse. Next time I'm wearing pants because my knees are all scraped up.

    thanks

try using a box... or if your gym has a stand where you can stand up and rest the wieghts in front of you... you get a hell of a lot more of stretch on your hams and its killer trying to keep your balance...
