    Proper form form for deadlift

I about 8 months ago found out i have two pinched nerves in my spine. I was told to stop lifting weights, and i did but managed to keep in great shape by doing many forms of bodyweight excercises and calesthenics and believe it or not lost very little strenght. They told me to never lift weights for the rest of my life but i am willing to try it one more time.
I used to deadlift and squat serious weight and they believe taht is what has caused the injuries. I always thought i had good form but obviously my form was flawed somewhere.
    So here are my questions
On deadlift, if you have a back injury should i use stiff legged or other forms of deadlifts should be used. Personally i like stiff legged alot, and what ever you guys recomend can you give me a checklist of things to do form wise.

and for squat can i get a checklist for my form (things to do and not to do) so I make sure i dont aggrevate my already injured back.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but is it really worth risking your long-term health to do those exercises? I'm no expert on form, but I would only do VERY light weight, with high reps

    1) The doctors who told you to never lift again are wrong.

    2) Do not do stiff-legged dead-lifts.

    3) Work around your back injury by avoiding exercises that irritate it. Only you know what that is because all back injuries are different. But, I would stear clear of squats and dead-lifts. AT LEAST FOR NOW!!!
