How often should I include negatives in my routine?
You should be doing about a 2 second negative with every repetition. As far as doing pure negatives, I would say never!Originally Posted by joeybeeee
2 sec negatives w/ each rep, cool thanks for the tip. So you recommend never doing negatives. Why? Is that really a picture of you?
1) Using heavy negatives, super slow negatives and/or negative training only should be avoided because the muscle damage experienced by this kind of training is very similar to the very thing you should be trying to avoid-(muscle strain)! In addition, attempting to perform a very slow negative produces a lot of lactic acid in the muscles-hence reducing your ability to push maximal weight on the positive contraction.Originally Posted by joeybeeee
2) The picture in my avatar is of my trainee IFBB Pro-bodybuilder "Tricky Jackson". He uses the Slingshot Training System (5 day per week split).
5 day per week split? is that a two a day?
No, you train only once a day Monday-Friday and take weekends off. Doing two a days will over-train you in short order.Originally Posted by joeybeeee
damn i love reading about the slingshot training man, but i had to go to EOD training i was simply burnt out, I cant even handle 2 days on 1 day off anymore.
That's why I designed the "Single-Shot" Slingshot Training System. It's only Monday/Wednesday/Friday and you'd be surprised how big-strong people have become by training only 3 days per week. I think the Single-Shot will fit the bill in your case.Originally Posted by ironaddict69
