Pumping away with never locking out a set

This method will keep the muscle under tension at all times.
    Well:

I am used to powerlifting methods, heavy ass weight, and locking out each rep, not getting the desired pump, or feeling.

Started of with HST yesterday, after about 1,5-2 years with the lockout stuff.

Went for 15 reps on everything, really felt amazing (especially chest, because there I am used to 5-8 reps)

I did not lock one single rep out, and just kept pumping away, it really burned.

    Well the question is:

Is this more of a "bodybuilding" method. For pure muscle mass gain I mean?
Because I see everyone who is a bodybuilder do this, in the gym, and on films everywhere.

It's all about squeezing and contracting the muscle with enough reps to break down muscle tissue. Keeping constant tension on the muscles will help but you do not need to avoid the lockout or going all the way down during the bottom of the movement unless it works better for your biomechanics.

I always go all the way down, but try to not lock it out on the top, in order to not loose tension.

    Are you contracting the muscle?
