Slingshot Training updates!!!
I've had a lot of pm's as of late so I decided to try and answer them at the same time by writing a more revised format of Slingshot Training starting on page 4 in post 138 of the STS thread- The Slingshot Training System
There's also a new 3 day split for those past the beginner stage!
I hope I have answered everyones questions to their satisfaction..In the future, I'll get into more detail about the advantages of periodically training each muscle group twice as you advance instead of always training a muscle once a week.
Good luck to all!

can the 3 day Ironman Hit you designed (each body part is trained twice a week) be alternated with this new 3 day a week STS (each body part is trained only once a week)? Or do you have a better plan than the original old Ironman Hit for hitting each muscle twice a week?

The Slingshot Training System
Can you benefit from these splits without the use of anabolic steroids ?

Mac, the 3 day STS is similar to the original IRONMAN HIT but the STS is better! The current 3 day split in the Slingshot Training thread were each muscle is trained twice every 8 days is for beginners, not intermediate bodybuilders and beyond!!!
After 3 months under your belt it's important to always use the same exercises each training session. Rotating exercises does not allow for specific adaptations to occur as well when training to be a bodybuilder. In the future, I will post some twice a week muscle training splits to be used in conjuction with the once a week STS splits.
In final, by training each bodypart only once a week as a "baseline" you will produce the most size gains with the least amount of effort while sparing the joints and central nervous system. Once the body adapts to once a week bodypart training you'll need to periodically hit each muscle group twice a week in order to keep progressing forward at the fastest rate humanly possible! Always training each muscle group once a week or always training a muscle group twice a week stops being productive for the more advanced bodybuilder. Once the muscles have adapted to the training frequency it must be changed if you are to continue to force the body to adapt. When done correctly this leads to further growth and strength gains!Last edited by Ronnie Rowland; 02-14-2008 at 06:36 AM.
