    Targeting the abdominals

Hi, I would like to start working on my abdominals at home right after using the treadmill instead of working them at gym to possibly work them better.

Is there a machine or peice of equipment that isolates them perfectly I could purchase?Or in your opinions whats the best way to work your abdominals if not using a machine or peice of equipment?

Only equipment i have at home for exercising or lifting is a treadmill, a bar, and few plate weights.

Any help would be very appreciated!Thxs!

I don't think u need anything more than normall crunches but u can try increasing the range of motion by doing abs on a decline bench...3/4 sets of 20reps

Deadlifts are amazing bro I cant believe what I'm hearing they will increase core strength exponentially... Stronger lower back/glutes/hammies/quads/calves/forearms and abs... it requires a huge amount of abdominal strength to lift 500lbs and thats a hell of alot more stress on your core then a situp....

get a chiining bar (or hang off something high up) and do straight leg raises. Other than that stick to sit up variations. I also like the medicine ball for boxing style ab work.

think about it, directly targeting the abdominals is going to have a greater effect then performing a compound movement. the deadlift does work your abs, but if your really trying to strengthen them, then assistance work that really targets them will bring up your weak abs.

If you guys want a great exercise for core and deadlift strenght try doing zercher squats. I like to wrap a towel around the bar so the knurling dosent rip off my flesh.
