im a short guy at 5'6 and i have a hard time getting the bar on and off the rack on bench. i bench in the low 3s but i dont feel comfotable going above 250 with out a spot. this has been killing my gains!!! i work out of town 4 days a week so i dont have a partner, and when i grab a random guy over half the time they dont have a clue how to spot. i try to pick someone who looks like they been in the weight room, but it is usually a kid who doesnt know how to do anything but pump a syringe.
any techniques to help the weight? do people mind helping lending a spot? or do i need to quit complaining and just hit bench on the weekend at my local gym even if i got to change my split?
