    back and chest question!..

i work out w/a guy at the gym he had a good physique and he is strong as well.well we did his routine witch he called it a 'German routine' witch it consist of back & chest routine. you would do a heavy chest flat or incline set first than a light back high rep low money sitting cable pull backs (for your back).it was an awesome felling as well as a good pump too. has any of you ever use this type of routine and what did you think about it?i just started back after yr off so i been going light to get back in to things but i am slowly working my way up back to going heavy for bulking and probably will not be doing this routine untill i get back to where i originally was.give me you feed back on what u guys think thanks!..

It is a push pull routine. Arnold's Encyclopedia has workouts in it that center around this. It is a nice routine to shock your muscles but I personally would not see any real long term need for a routine like this.

^^^ yeah, I've done the chest/back combo before just to throw a wrench in my training but never for more than 2-3 weeks... after that your muscles get way too exhausted and burnt out from doing two major muscle groups in one sitting
