feeling like your going to throw up doing them is deffnetly a great benifit
my favorite lift.
Your legs, back, and core truly benefit from the lift. My back has become quite a bit bigger since I incorporated them into my routine about 1 year ago.
i got away from deads for about six months or so and just started back doing them a couple of weeks ago. ive fell in love with them, i dont know why i ever quit.
everyone seems to love em so I think im gonna throw em in there...whats u guys back day look like?
can someone post proper form?
I prefer sumo deadlifts: http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/...oDeadlift.html
I find it easier for me to keep a neutral alignment of the lower back with this variation.
i rememebr when i first started doind them bout 6 yrs ago had been lifting for buot 14 yrs at the time after about a month of them i got a glimpes of my self walking past a mirror and literally did a dbl take I couldnt believe how much i changed from front to back i thickened way up. now i do them about every other back .
sumo or conventional?
do a search or search a youtube video.
I always go sumo unless it's straight-legged deads
you guys should have seen me try sumo deadlifts It felt so awkward having my feet that wide I barely moved up 6 inches when I pulled it
I've got fairly decent convential form but I'm clueless on the sumo's.
Deads are a good core exercise which helps all the stabalizer muscles in your back as well as your hamstrings. There a good stable for a back workout as well but you don't need to do them on a weekly basis(it can really stress your lower back especially if your form isnt spot on)
moreGNR i think that correct form is important in every exercise, especially the ones that focus on your core/stabalizer muscles but dont see why you cannot perform them every week. please explain your statement b/c this could be a mistake that i am making.
Dead style is individual and depends on flexibilty.
Best exercise you can do for strength. Just dont use straps or your cheating yourself.
You cn hit deads every week, but as you start pulling become more efficient at them and start pulling more and more weight you wouldnt want to max out every day or youd OT your CNS within a short period.
they are my fav!!!! Great for strength and growth. I pull em off the floor, none of that rack mess either.
Off the floor or even standing on mats (1-3inchs off the floor).
Forget the tough and go crap too. They are called DEAD lifts for a reason. Its meant to be a dead weight.
Deads kill my lower back so they are limited in my workout. also they make your waist thicker=bigger. Im all about symmetry
