    Rear delts before front.....

Ever since i have started lifting I have done shoulders, by hitting the front delt, then the whole, then rear delts. Today I learned from 2 friends with more experience, that this can do damage to your rotator cuffs, and that you should start with rear delts and work your way to the front. I need somebody to explain this to me....

IMHO, you risk damaging your rotator cuffs from 1. lack of warm up to a heavy load and 2. awkward/unsafe position (the same reason why behind-the-neck presses are not popular in the last few years)

the only reason I can imagine why your friends would say that is because most people end up neglecting/under-training rear delts and only strengthening the sides/front leading to disproportionate development and leaving one injury prone. IMHO, you can do rear delts first every now and then to change things up and keep your muscles guessing.

as far as the rotator cuff, id have to know what there reasoning is...

IMO I dont do a whole lot for front delts cause my rear delts need more work and the front get blasted from military press and bench press. so im all about the rear delt,

yup, like a pressing movement first to and then on to rear and/or side delts. Don't do any iso really for front delts as my pressing movement cooks them pretty well
