    Post-Tetanic Facilitation

This was mentioned in an article I read. After doing some more reading and research seems like it is nothing more than a fancy term for pyramiding.

Anyone know if my assumption is correct? Muscle Science????

    Pretty much,

It describes the effect of repeated nerve depolarization that have and additive effect on facilitating the release of neurotransmitters, termed summation. Its pretty close in the effect of Treppe which is calcium derived but has a similar effect. In fact I think that some exercise physiologist use the term interchangeably. PTF is usually used by anesthesiologist to describe the effects on nervous tissue to pain killers, and anastetics.
