sore hips and abs after deadlift

is this supposed to happen ? i am afraid i am using wrong form which is causing my hips and abs to get sore, i know with the deadlift only the lower back, glutes and traps are supposed to get sore.

    Really?

Do the quads; forearms; calves; biceps; abs; hips; and obliques get 'turned off' during the lift?

    I think not.

Yep, the man has a point.

deadlifts are a power exercise because they require a large number of muscles. Your weaknesses will obviously be more sore than the muscles that are stronger.

sore is ok, outright pain is not.

I turn off my biceps and forearm so my grip doesn't give out.

yea its just deep sorness no pain,so i suppose that my abs and hips arent used to the stress delivered by the DL so they get more sore than the rest mentioned by Narkissos
