    cramping everywhere !!!

i play football for a highschool team in northern louisiana. the temperatures and humidity are pretty rough reaching 100+ and 100% humidity.

that being said we started practice last week, we work out once or twice a week before practice for about 45 minutes but its a full body football workout.

i didn't want to stop my workout routine of hitting one body part each day something like:
    monday-chest
    tuesday-back
    wednesday-tris
    thursday-biceps
    friday-shoulders

havent been doing any leg work because i want to have some legs under me during practice. Well today i back and the whole practice i was cramping on both sides in my upper back to the extent of where it effected my practice. any advice or should i just stop working out until after season ?

    How old are you??

Are you using any steroids or over the counter stimulants right now??

What does your diet consist of ??

And how much water do you consume on a daily basis??

i drank atleast a gallon of water a day and also drink a 32 oz powerade. unfortunatly we ran out of bananas so im drinking a glass of orange juice to replace it until we get some more.

i went to the team trainor and he said it had to do with working my back out and the muscles being fatigued.

    Pics of wife or

also watch over training bro; if you are doing a full body workout with/for football I would do no more than 4-8 sets of any particular muscle isolation in addition to the full body.

well over training may have very well been the problem. i think my back workout today consisted of:

    3x5 wide chin ups
    4x10 seated row machine
4x10 dumbell rows (right arm then left arm)
    4x10 wide lat pull downs

is that in addition to your full body? or was that by itself?

if after full body; too much

if by itself; your fine add supplement with potassium and seeing as you're still in HS add some creatine to help with recover; all in addition to staying hydrated. I would also recommend you stretch the shit out of your back after especially if you are practicing after that workout...

    as for the w/o...

    chin ups
    db rows
    lat pd
    seated rows

also start adding in some dead lifts; I would sub these every other w/o with the db rows - these will add to the core and your strength will increase with everything

im loving your help. i have read that about the deadlifts and actually tried them today but it didnt work out too well. i actually tore my hamstring the first week of summer and its just now recovered and really weak from not working it for so long. the deadlifts really caused some aggravation.

as for the creatine i always thought that creatine made it even harder to stay hydrated and with 100+ degree weather and 100% humity its already hard enough at these mid day practices.

and for the workout that was by itself. ill do a full body football workout tomorrow before practice which will be the first of the week.

yeah, i totally understand about deads bro, I did them on thursday and had a softball tournie this wknd; hamstring felt like it was getting ready to snap rounding 3rd; took myself out and still hobbeling around - d@mn it

creatine actually helps, muscle is mostly made of water; creatine loads the muscles with water - that's why most get bloated when taking.

I dont like the workout split. Chest, tris, and delts have a separate day each? And a whole workout day of nothing but biceps? I hope it's a brief workout or you have a high overtraining threshold. Train less. Do more per workout.

You are cramping bad..your body is trying to tell you something. you are probably overtraining or under hydrating/electrolyte imbalances

the workout split is the way it is because im practicing football for two hours a day in 100+ degree weather which i need as much energy as possible just to make it through.

as for the workouts they dont last longer than 30-45 minutes and thats working out with a partner.

yeah, we're funny like that, not wanting questions that have nothing at all to do with steroids in the "Steroids Questions and Answers" section.
