Crazy pump in the lower back

When I train legs, I start of with heavy squats, but when doing this I start to devellop a painfull pump in the lower back, its not a pain that tells me to stop, but it is annoying.
After that I do some heavy leg presses, and here I also experience the pain.

It had started since I began with bulking, and now holding on some water, but It could also be that im getting stronger.

When doing deads the pump is not a big deal, only the squats are bad.

More people experience this? Any tips for it, or just deal with it?

I normally get that lower back pump when doing deadlift and goodmorning and love it when i get that! But I dont know why you getting it on your squats. Maybe your leaning forward too much?

That would be my guess too, but it is weird that it is happening on leg press too where his back is supported.

I would suggest good stretching (especially hams) and do abs if you aren't currently.

Possibly going heavier than you can handle and its making your form suffer. If you are doing it correctly, it shouldn't be annoying. Step back a little in weight and see if it doesn't help and focus on your form.

I agree with Adam. Also, the leg press can be very bad for causing lower back problems when going heavy. Try lunges on a smith machine instead if you have access.

When I go deep I lean forward a little, thats from the first set, but its not a lot.
Thanks for the tips, im going to try out some changes, stretching is a good idea, because i'm a wooden plank.
