    No pain no gain?

I have just started lifting this April. I keep hearing "if you dont feel it the next day, you're doing something wrong." Well I work my ass off and pretty much go till the muscles give out... but I dont feel much the next day. I'm ectomorphic so I do 6 heavy reps, 5 sets, and maybe 3-4 exercises per body part. At the end, as I said I pretty much can't lift any more. Am I just lucky and a fast healer?

PWO pain, DOMS or whatever you want to call it is not really the sign of a good WO. Usually when starting out though you find that you suffer from it a lot unless your body has been predisposed to the overload (very physical job/sports etc).

Being that you are new though you CNS and motor unit recruitment wont be overly good. This is also evident by the fact that you can actually do a WO consisting or 5 sets @ 6reps to failure. Id recommend you up the reps to 10-12 and keep the sets/rep schemes as they are till progress slows/stalls, which for you should be quite a while.

    thanks for the reply

Now do you think I'll burn too much off if I up the reps? (Being ectomorphic)
