how many times of week do you work out your abs?
Currently on a cutting regime . . . i workout each muscle once per week . . . is it the same for abs??
Thanks for any input, perhaps a poll would be a good idea?

I am cutting right now and am doing them about 5 times per week but this is not what I normally do. Just trying to go that extra mile to get the six pack for my vacation next month.

^^^ I use to do the above but now as of 5 months ago I do them 3 times a week and they seem to be getting bigger and moved defined. Its weird, haven't changed my diet but they are coming through more. NICE!!

Depends on the intensity of your workout. I work mine eod. Leg raises and weighted crunches usually. I always do 5 sets of each, ranging between 25-30 reps per. More on the raises though.

if you want abs, unless you have good genetics... its all about diet , ive been cutting since august..i do alot of cardio, and i never worked on abs..last two weeks ive been doing ab work outs in between my one muscle a day workout ...and ive seen vast ab improvements and want more..
if you only do one muscle a week, you should have no problem mixing in abs in between your sets ..
for example flat bench press, then do decline weighted sit ups,
then incline bench press, then leg lifts...works well

I do alot of knee/leg lifts from a bar hanging in my ceiling, some sit ups, crunches too. Sex works pretty well also. 4-8 sets a day is what I`m doing for the abs, nothing to crazy and like I said about 5 times a week or so just because I`m trying to make the abs stand out for my vacation.

Just remember that the Rectus abdominis the main frontal Ab muscle requires only a small movement (not so much the large movement you see so often), I concentrate on the upper and lower in different exercises and using the small movement have had some great gains, don't forget the obliques.
Good luck

Also your abbs are like any muscle. I dont know why you see people in the gym who do 100 situps or crunches. you would not do that on bench why do it for abbs?
load the muscle, if you want to see it make it bigger.

seems like everyone has different opinions . . . and you have to find what works for you . . .
Started this week doing what i think is called something like lateral lifts (standing up straight, holding a dumbell in one hand by your side, and leaning sidewards to lower the dumbell then lift back up - great description right), my lateral abs are now destroyed!

I'm with the abs are worked in every core exercise group. If you want better ab's you will most likely benefit from running more. I'm sure they are rock hard beneath that fatty tissue.

If you wanna see your ab's then get your diet in check, CASE CLOSED.

Once a week as a baseline has really thickened my abs. I do 8-10 sets during a reload and 4 sets during a deload.
Use weight and take reps to 15-30 using good failure for maximal development.

Once or 2x a week. Really no need to do more, I agree with diet being key to getting them defined.

I never work abs solo. They get plenty or work from Olympic and power lifts.

if your looking to gain size on your abs then i suppose one maybe twice a week but for me i like to keep my abs tight and quite flat so my chest is more pronounced as i lack chest

One day on one day off. Sometimes 2 days in a row when I'm not too beat up from my normal routine.
