Another cardio question.
is there a difference between jogging for 30 min or walking at a steady pace and a incline if your heart rate is the same during the 30 min? Example, today I walked at a 10 degree incline at 4.0 mph and my heart rate stayed between 130 and 138 for 30 min. Yesterday I jogged at 4.4 - 0 degree incline for 30 min and my heart rate was in the same zone. Whats the difference?

prob nothing as long as duration is the same ...h/r a good indication of exertion therefore calories burned but it is a interesting question.Id be more interested in calorie burning after activity performed re: how long is h/r elevated AFTER completion of cardio ...this would be only place you may see a dif in one over the other,
but i dont know for sure.

I'm on my feet all day long at work, so in your opinion if I kicked it up to 35-45 min walking at an incline while my hr is still between 130 and 138 Im golden? Its easier on my knees to do cardio this way instead of jogging for 30 min/5 days a week.

IMO that would be fine ..esp with the knee thing ..the other option may hurt knees to the point where u need to take time off from cardio...then you are def worse off .. bottom line with cardio is that you do it ...and do it in a way that is conducive to continuing to do it (time you do it,what you do, when you do it, etc..) Some times may be more effctive (first thing in am , post resistance wo) ..but they arent if you will not do it during those times FOR EXAMPLE :better doing it midday than not at all

dont get me wrong, if my knee starts to hurt, I skip cardio for the day, no biggie. I literally run around a hotel for hours a day which is pretty good but Im not truly satisfied until my 30 min cardio is completed for the day. By the way Hilary Clinton said hello to me yesterday morning!!
