    Too much??

    HELLO,

When working out back and bis and chest and tris(these are done on seprate days) I can sometimes do up to 32 sets total. Is this too much??

    Thanks~!

Well, your intensity is probably not as high as it should be. Depending on your goals of course.

I know that Chest-Triceps-Biceps on one day is too much for a solid and intense workout.

I would put you through a session that 8 set would break you down enough that rest of your workout would be crap.

Don't go by number, rack up the intensity and I can guarantee you that number of sets total will go down.

Keep in mind that while working back you are also working bis. Same with chest/tris. I stick with 12-15 sets of back with maybe 2 more bi exercises. I'm trying to get my arms proportioned to my body, so I throw another arm day in where I do 8-9 sets for bis and 10-12 sets for tris.

Bottom line is yes, if your intensity is up, like uber said, you shouldn't be able to do 32 sets per workout.

[QUOTE][Keep in mind that while working back you are also working bis. Same with chest/tris/[QUOTE]

This I understand, I've been thought to do bis following back and same with chest and tris.

Thanks for the input! My intensity is pretty good, I play the log game and I am consistently trying to beat it. I understand how important intensity is.
    So.........

Maybe just to 2 bi exercises after back and then two tri exercises after chest
then pick another day to work bis and tris more extensity??

Current goal would be to gain mass.

    Thanks again

Best routine I ever did for heavy and intense workout is this. I am currently on it. Works great, I just change exercises from time to time and add weights regularly. Took me 3 years to come up with it Test and trials.

    Legs (squats,lunges,calves)
    Chest + shoulders
    OFF
    OFF
    Back + Traps
Biceps + Triceps + Legs (leg press, leg ext, leg curls, calves) - Legs are done separate time of a day.
    OFF
    OFF

Sometimes I even needed additional 3rd day OFF.

    Anywhere from 6-8.

They get hit while doing heavy chest lifts. Then additional 6-8 will do the trick. Just make sure they are as tough.

One thing you need to remember is that your shoulders work all the time, when you do you biceps, triceps, back...and so on. They are fairly small muscles comparing to all the other groups you train.
