breaks between sets
I lift with 3 or 4 buddies sometimes. I it bad to have a long break between sets. Tis is mainly on my chest workouts.

How long?
And what kind of lifting are you doing? Power lifters usually take longer breaks
Not really, just wasting your time...

It's not a waste at all. Better to wait until you're 100% ready for the set so you can give maximum effort.

it depends on your goals.

I allow very short periods between sets, often less than 90 seconds.

3 minutes max is my rule of thumb unless I am doing some seriously heavy squats with wraps I might go 4-5 minutes. I try to stay in the 90-120 second range.

I can't have a workout partner, I do not stay near as focused as when I lift alone. I normally rest 1-2 min for low rep sets and 30-90 s for higher rep sets

1-2 minutes for smaller muscle groups. 2-3 for big muscle groups, very rarely 4

i like to keep my rest periods short like 60 to 90 seconds. i find if i do that my pump will increasingly get better and i feel i have a better mind muscle connection.if i rest to long sometimes i cant get the pump back as much.

Stop doing chest with gangs of people. This is a common practice with people with leads to 2 hour chest routines. Pick one training partner and get moving or it's impossible to get a good pump going and keep it.
