    Funny, lol

So i see this kid, kinda young little big on a flat bench he sticks on 315... i was like wow he must be strong he picks it off the bar and drops that shit as fast as he can and bounces it off his chest to get it up barely 3 times, does the bounce each time.... this does nothing correct?

You might crack a rib or clavical, or lose control and be in real trouble. It isn't proper technique, its cheating, even though it is a good weight.

it is working your chest but not full range of motion. not cool really.

I see that in a lot of young kids who are just coming out of high school. Likely it is something they picked up on from coaches, teachers, or other students. My football coaches used to recommend using a little bounce, but not as big as the kid you're describing lol. I'm glad I never gave into that technique.

He'll learn the hard way sooner or later...

yea i was like holy shit thats gotta hurt, cuz i can bench 315 for about 4 reps but in a clean steady motion with it stopping about an 1 inch off my chest, so i didnt think his technique really did anything.

Man I would think that you would really have to bounce 315 hard off your chest to get any momentum going back up? Must have felt good.
