If you do alot of powerlifting in squats and increase your 1rm from like 200 to 300 would that mean you could jump alot higher for somethin like say basketball?

Not necessarily. Jumping is more about explosiveness than anything. Best thing for jumping higher is plyometrics IMO. I know plenty of guys who can squat 500+ and can't jump high at all.
That said, the best way to increase your jumping ability is to do a combo of plyometrics and lifting. Speed squats, ect.
