    Targeting Upper Tricep

This question (like most) has most likely been addressed here before but I performed a search to no avail...

It seems no matter what I do I can't specifically target my upper tricep. By that I mean underneath my arm and closer to my shoulder rather than my elbow (lateral head??)

I've tried dips inclined extentions/push-down, skull crushers etc. What I've ended up with is a rock hard lower tricep and irritatingly lagging upper.

Any of you have any pointers that have worked for you?

    Thanks gents!

unfortunately that portion of the tri is most active in the bottom (or top) 1/3 of most movements. IMO rope pushdowns ....flare out at bottom ...and this one you have to lock out and squeeze imo....
Also this if your gym has it and roll hands under as faras you can - hands at top as high as you can (close to cable thubs on flats): http://www.ifitnessdirect.com/images...tricep_bar.jpg

Ah, we do have one of these, and I've actually never used it lol...
Tri's aren't till Monday. (thus my Tuesday frustration) but I'll give it a shot.
    Thanks for the tip bud!

just like jimmy said, use the rope and really squeeze the tricep when you go down. i always pull the rope outwards when i hit the bottom while keeping my elbows and wrist locked. it's given me a really nice horse shoe shape on my tris

When you do these, do you use it as a finishing exercise with low weight?
